| | The weather's been amazing these past few days. It's no wonder that many have forgotten about global warming, blue crab population has exploded, economy has partially regained a shadow of its former self, and North Korea is threatening to further progress its nuclear program.
Speaking of which, the international community has gone willy nilly on North Korea. Consider this, they have one of the largest conventional armies in the world. Yes, the world. I believe the CIA factbook placed them in the top 5. And yet, we helped feed them when there were reports of famine. What the hell?! The key was to take advantage of the situation for the better good and take control of areas of interest, distribute food, and come out like liberators. You fed 4 million of their soldiers to do what? Kill 4 million of your own... smart. Ok, so I trivialized the process a little too much; imagine this then: a more stable region (extremely hard, but can be done with the help with strong leadership and a large capable staff). Tricky part is to take North Korea over fast, and deter China from reacting fast enough. When was the perfect time? During the Chinese olympics (for many reasons... think about it). Thanks to Korea's corrupt (let's not rule out idiotic) politicians, who knows when the next opportune time will come to pass. Soviet Union? They're still having difficulties managing their own and trying to establish business partnerships, it won't be that hard to keep them sidelined. Why not just seek U.S. aid especially considering they have a base in Korea? A little reminder: a huge chunk of the U.S. deficit is from the massive loan that China has provided. Yeah, if you're not careful, you may be stepping on a nasty little landmine. Of course, South Korea will be receiving aid indirectly, but that can only be the cause of speculation.
Damn, if I only had a war chest, 50 capable staff members, and adequate equipment... I'd have taken over a peninsula by now.
